Richard R. Jeffries, D.O.

Dr. Jeffries is a board-certified Family Physician who served in the U.S. Navy for 35 years. His military career includes selection to Flag rank and promotion to Rear Admiral Upper Half (2-stars).  As a physician he served as Department Head, Residency Program Director, Director Medical Services, Chairman Executive Committee of Hospital Medical Staff, and Physician of the Year – Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Jeffries is a board-certified Family Physician who served in the U.S. Navy for 35 years. His military career includes selection to Flag rank and promotion to Rear Admiral Upper Half (2-stars).  As a physician he served as Department Head, Residency Program Director, Director Medical Services, Chairman Executive Committee of Hospital Medical Staff, and Physician of the Year – Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians.  He also was Chairman of the Continuing Medical Education Committee for the American Osteopathic Association. He worked with the Rutgers-Cleveland Clinic Consortium, Congress and the Joint Staff on AFIRM 1 Regenerative Medicine Research and currently oversees a Wellness Clinic for Sterling Medical in San Diego, CA.

His military career included operational deployments with the Marines as acting Division Surgeon for Desert Shield/Storm Gulf War, U.S. Forces Surgeon for Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, and with the Navy as Joint Naval Forces Medical Director for Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.  Other key military positions include Deputy Commander/Chief of Medical Staff of a Medical Center, Commanding Officer/CEO for a Naval Hospital, Future Operations Director for Navy Medicine, Commander/CEO for National Naval Medical Center/President of the United States’ Hospital and combined it with the Army’s Center resulting in Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He was twice assigned to be the Executive Healthcare Director for all US Marine Corps’ Medicine finally retiring from that post in 2011.

Since the military he has been a consultant and practiced Family Medicine, ran a Wellness Clinic, consulted with an innovation company Cambia Health, been on the Board of several charities, taught in medical schools and provided strategic planning for a new medical college, assisted with medical research, lectured on military medicine and is Chief Medical Officer for Grace and Associates.
